- Improved sound quality
- USB-C charging capabilities
- Six months of free Apple Music with purchase
Apple has launched the second generation of its popular AirPods Pro, now equipped with MagSafe Charging and USB-C capabilities. These new AirPods Pro continue to push the boundaries of personal audio, offering improved sound quality, double the Active Noise Cancellation of their predecessors, an advanced Transparency mode, a more immersive Spatial Audio experience, and a wider range of ear tip sizes for a better fit.
The addition of USB-C charging allows for added convenience, while the enhanced dust resistance ensures durability, making these AirPods Pro suitable for even the most rugged adventures. Furthermore, the inclusion of Lossless Audio with Apple Vision Pro takes wireless audio to a whole new level, delivering exceptional entertainment, gaming, FaceTime calls, and more.
With the upcoming release of iOS 17, all AirPods Pro (2nd generation) will gain access to exciting new features like Adaptive Audio and Conversation Awareness. Adaptive Audio dynamically blends Transparency mode and Active Noise Cancellation, adjusting noise control based on the user’s environment. Conversation Awareness lowers content volume and enhances voices when the user engages in nearby conversations. Additionally, Personalized Volume uses machine learning to fine-tune the listening experience based on user preferences over time.
Apple is also committed to sustainability with the new AirPods Pro. The devices incorporate recycled materials, such as 100 percent recycled rare earth elements in magnets and 100 percent recycled gold in the plating of printed circuit boards. The packaging has been redesigned to eliminate plastic wrap, and fiber-based materials are used for over 90 percent of the packaging. Apple aims to completely remove plastic from all packaging by 2025 and has set ambitious goals to achieve carbon neutrality across its operations and supply chain by 2030.
The AirPods Pro (2nd generation) with MagSafe Charging Case (USB-C) will be available for $249 (U.S.) starting September 22. Customers can also personalize their AirPods Pro with engravings for free at the Apple Store Online. Additionally, new subscribers can enjoy six months of free Apple Music with the purchase of any AirPods model. Stay tuned for more updates on the AirPods lineup and its compatibility with iOS 17, including features like Mute or Unmute and improved Automatic Switching.
